On arrival in Cochin, meet a Wind Horse representative. Transfer from airport to a hotel of stay. Cochin (Kochi) a cosmopolitan city is the federal state of Kerala. In the evening at 17.00hrs, visit the famous dance drama of Kerala - the “Kathakali”. This dance can be characterized by grotesque gesticulations, amazing costumes and very extensive make-up. The stories are mostly taken from the epics Mahabharatha and Ramayana.

After breakfast at 9:00a.m. leave for Cochin sight seeing visiting: ‘The Jewish Synagogue’ at the heart of what is locally called the “Jew Town,” The Dutch Palace, Spice market at the narrow streets, ‘The St. Francis Church’, the oldest European Church in India, ‘The Santa Cruz Basilica’ originally built in 1557 by the Portuguese. In the evening visit the “Tourism Model Village ‘ – Kumbalangi. Here you may indulge in activities like knowing different methods of fishing and hands-on activities. A short canoe ride during the sunset is spectacular.

Check out from hotel after breakfast and drive to Periyar (also known as Thekkady). The name Periyar comes after the dam made here by the English in 1895. We will stop enroute for many stunning views. On arrival check into a hotel and rest of the day at leisure.

After breakfast you will be taken for a guided plantation tour at a garden, where various species of spices and other aromatic plants are cultivated. Onward visit spice market and tea factory in the nearby main town. Break for lunch in one of the best hotels near the Periyar National park/Tiger reserve. In the evening at 4:00p.m. you are taken for the most popular boat trip at the National park. The best way to observe wildlife is from a boat. There are many animals to see, including herds of elephants, bison and packs of wild boars that roam through the woods and parade along the shores of the lake, usually just before sunrise and sunset.

Depart from hotel after early breakfast and drive to Munnar, which is know as “The Nature Lovers’ Paradise”. Departing after breakfast, the drive down hill through winding roads will reach you to Kumarakom – one of the most popular backwater destinations of Kerala. On arrival, a short country boat will take you across the lake to “Philip Kutty’s Farm” - set on a beautiful farm islands, which were actually reclaimed from the backwaters (Vembanad Lake) in the early 1950’s. Staying at Philipkutty’s farm is a wonderful experience, especially with a very caring host family to look after you. Checkout from hotel at 11:00a.m. and drive to reach Alleppey, which is the land of backwater or so called the Venice of the East.
